From 16 to 18 September, the H.O.G. Zambezi Chapter and over 800 Harley-Davidson enthusiasts will descend upon the quaint town of Dullstroom for Harleystroom 2016.
Events and attractions on the agenda this year include 150km and 350km outrides, a Parade, bike games, live bands and music, a bustling beer garden, a VIP lounge, and loads of mouth-watering food to choose from.
Following registration, and a stream of impressive musical entertainment on Friday, the action truly kicks off on Saturday 17th September with the 350km Staalbal Outride at 9:00 and the 150km mini Staalbal Outride at 09:15. Next up, the Harley Parade departs from the Highland Golf Estate at 11:00, and the bike games begin at 12:00 next to the Rally Site. Owners will show off their much-loved machines at the Bike Show at 16:00, the results of which will be announced at the prize giving that evening. The rest of the night will be filled with the sound of local bands such as NightHawk, 2nd Life, and VanCoet.
Before leaving on Sunday, festival attendees are free to explore the town at their own leisure and enjoy the wide range of restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs Dullstroom has to offer. Because Dullstroom is the fly-fishing capital of South Africa, and due to the fact that it is currently the best time of year for trout fly-fishing, be sure to visit one of the many dams in the area to try your luck at landing a rainbow trout, brown trout, golden trout, or large-mouth bass. Top fishing spots include Dunkeld Country Estate, Trophy Dam at the Bird of Prey centre, and La Verpa Dam managed by Mavungana Fly Fishing.
